So this video will teach you to do exactly what I do to cut out heads or anything else: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TDnDRgrpUs
Now once you have rendered your head as a tip! Save it in a Folder as a PSD file (without the background) So that should you use it again, you can load the file and use it without having to recut it.
Now if you cut out a head, what I do is make a new layer above the head and have the new layer selected. Hold CTRL and click on the thumnail of the Layer. this will make a selection of the head. Now go to Edit>Stroke. Choose the color of the line you want for the outline(dark to black) and select 2pixels (this could be too much.) and Inside or Center(depending on how well you cut it.(mostly center). now press okay. and you have a outline of the head on a NEW LAYER! why on a new layer? because you don't want lines at places like : Neck or certain hair parts. So that's basically how I cut out a head and prepare it for the edit.
Background Restore :
Just use this video it's all that I do : www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifhEx4adAa8
Some Hotkeys to use : Ctrl+Z is undo once Ctrl+Alt+Z is undo(if you press again it will undo more) Ctrl+T is Free transformation (Hold shift while you drag so that it doesn't get distorted!!) B is Brush E is Eraser P is Pentool ( Remember this is the most important Tool)
Layer Tricks : New layer > right click > Create Clipping mask. (this layer will cover over the one that's underneath it/linked to it. and it won't go over the border of what's it clipped to.) HOLD Alt and click a layer and drag it while holding alt to make a copy of the layer.
That's it for now.
